LOG-IT©

LOG-IT© has revolutionized the use of load tickets, or TM9 forms, required to track the origin, destination and volume of timber harvested in the forestry industry. The information that previously was hand written by a loader operator is now encoded into a 2-D barcode and printed onto a label in the loader.

Loader operators like to use LOG-IT© because of the ability to recall recurring information and the ease of entering information. Truck drivers like to use it because they can scan the data instead of typing it. Management like LOG-IT© because of reduced data errors and reduced duplication of work. The increased automation has a direct impact of increased profits; users find the system pays for itself in a very short time.

The equipment is very rugged and rarely needs servicing. The barcodes are able to withstand a variety of conditions and still be useable, from freezing to hot, dry to wet, flat to crumpled or even torn. Included in the barcode is a GPS position and date-time to ensure the load was taken from where it was claimed. The time in the barcode can be compared with the time the load ticket is scanned to analyze travel times.

LOG-IT© can also be linked with the Virtual-Footprint tracking system to provide information on wrapper check compliance, average haul speed and the impact on cycle times. This can also be a safety measure for truck drivers in lone worker situations, depending on the method by which Virtual-Footprint is chosen to report (cellular, radio-frequency or satellite).

LOG-IT© is currently being used extensively in the forest industry; just use your imagination to utilize this technology in your own business!
